My Aphorisms ( Do Not Copy )

When today seems like hell, bear in mind that tomorrow will be heaven. Don’t lose hope and faith - They are the tools needed for our survival. When darkness seems to engulf you, spit back the brightness within you. A poet is an artist who paints a picture in your mind. All an agonized soul needs is some time to regain the lost strength. A Paradox is like a bride – blissful enough to enter the future yet petrified enough to run away from it. Failure is what you didn’t make of and success is what you make of. A battle of one’s soul can be won only with exculpation and not with retribution. Life is a reality lived in fantasy. Poetry is a chimera of one’s nostalgia.

Yearning for her

Waiting for my true love,
Praying earnestly above,
Many passing months,
Time seeming like zillionths,

Nurturing her from head to toe,
Seeing her rising, I am filled with a glow,
In dreams, I see her ever stunning face,
A vision etched on my mind, never to erase,

Constantly vanishing in my dreams,
Fear gripping me in extremes,
Perplexed whether I am ready or not,
Scared she might disappear without a thought,

I see her, a creation anew,
Realizing dreams do come true,
With tiny hands and feet, wanting to mobile,
Looking at me with a pleasant smile,

I shed a tiny tear with contentment,
This child making me whole, a parent,
Embracing her, never wanting to be apart,
My life now made meaningful with this sweetheart.

An Unforgettable Adventure

I remember the time, waiting for vacation,
At a young age, ready to spring into action,
Royal treatment with bouquet,
In traveler’s bungalow to stay,

Playing around with siblings,
Watching numerous Telugu movies,
In the theatres with a banquet,
Visiting this village a kismet,

Place surrounded by woods,
Sleeping oblivious to falsehoods,
As darkness folds, sudden sting of pain,
Screaming while holding my blain,

Now everyone on the huge table,
Turning the lights on in a grumble,
Finding black scorpions scattered ubiquitously,
Calling the help, wanting to move hastily,

Only to find the neighboring cottage,
Filled with poisonous snakes in a ravage,
Extreme weather ramming deadly insects,
Into our haven, with no prospects,

Envisioning the table to be our sack,
Spending our night without an attack,
Packing our things to flee at the first light,
Years later, I narrate this escapade tale with delight.

Well this is an incident experienced by someone dear to me at their childhood which occured in Kodur in 1971, a small village in Andhra Pradesh, India. I couldnt imagine to be in a place filled with scorpions. That's just the place for nightmares!!

Cries Unheard

On a sunny day in June,
Peeling fruits in the afternoon,
All of a sudden hearing a cry,
Knowing something has gone awry,

Her screams mutinous to my ears,
Her mother’s bashing, it appears,
Child, recovering from an illness,
From brain hemorrhage in its malice,

Lessons taught by her mother,
Unable to comprehend in a blur,
Repeating the words with an effort,
Otherwise a curse or a thump with a quirt,

Parents fighting over her,
Father abhorring the batter,
Mother inexorable in her actions,
And a neighbor who’s helpless,

Every time she cries,
Wishing I was her relies,
Tears flowing from my eyes,
I pray to god to impede her mother’s despise,

Wish I could let her know,
That she is indeed mellow,
Her screams would one day turn to laughter,
And that she would always be safe in god’s armor.

Living in Shadows

For days,
Waiting in shadows,
Noticing him in wonders,
Being one of the doctors,
Preserving lives,
Using his exceptional hands,
Her aching craves,
With hunger crimson lips,
Changing from her cores,
With trembling nerves,
Gratifying her needs,
Crawling into his dreams,
Wearing red leather pants,
Showing her true colors,
Seated near waters,
While he approaches,
Her appealing features,
Turning monstrous,
Dreams becoming his nightmares,
Assuming his delusions,
To be mental disorders,
Love can be assumptions,
Of disarrays,
Her constant pursuits,
Ending as tortures,
With flowing tears,
From her piercing eyes,
Making decisions,
For his excellence,
She leaves,
Without her desires,
Into the shadows,
Indulging in grave loneliness.

Sleeping with the werewolf

Lying next to this strange being, akin to an ape,
Even the slightest move proving to be deadliest.
Listening to his unvarying breath, pondering ways to escape,
Contemplating my chances of survival jumping through the window, being bleakest,

Realizing his arm around me, sensing his immense muscles,
Now at ease, soaking up the extreme heat radiating from his body,
Unexpectedly, I find his embrace tighten around my neck, straining my vitals,
Sudden stinging pain, thrusting his pointed cuspids deeply,

Unable to break loose from his iron clutches, with all my strength,
Yet no match against this wild animal, I push him onto the nightstands.
Breaking away eventually, with survival instincts in full length,
Grabbing an old umbrella, point it against him with trembling hands,

With mockery in his eyes, jumping swiftly in hunger,
Thrusting my weapon into his vitals now with my right hand,
Falling flat on the floor, blood trickling everywhere,
Aware of his speedy recuperation, running with seconds in hand,

Till he starts chasing me, I dash out of the room,
Rushing through the dark hallway in caution,
Fear transfixing while he chases me with derides into a day room,
Now faced with several vicious werewolves, I halt in consternation.

 thudthud thudthud thudthud thudthud
thudthud thudthud
thudthud
... ... ...

Well this was again another nightmare I had few days back. Kinda caught on me..so made it into a poem....

My Perturbs

Her horrendous past haunting, reminding her shortfalls,
In a place where time has stood still,
Stuck between the huge grey walls,
Unable to bear the pain, she groans inwardly with a shrill.

Clutching her abdomen, feeling it creeping inside of her,
A dark unseen force, trying to take away what she has left,
Burrowing every part of her as it progresses like a driller,
Unable to move, with helplessness she was bereft.

Now traveling to her heart, the excruciating part,
Squeezing her cardiac muscle, making her breathless,
Turning stiff and stone cold, crumbling her feeble heart,
Tears of blood, like flood they fill the bathroom floor in numbness.

A disease like, so damn overwhelming,
Lasting for few minutes, lifetime it seems,
Sucking off the life force, deadly thoughts filling,
Paralyzing her from performing even the basic chore, visions extremes,

She calls it ‘My Perturbs’…..Coming and going as it pleases….Locked up in her mind.......

Perpetually… …

ISOLATED

Sitting here alone, thinking of you on our bedside,
Years passing without you by my side
I am cold and stripped lacking your warmth, I was unquenched.
Waiting and knowing that my yearning will be quenched,
With death you went and now with my death, we be entwined,
Forever by your side I want to be, our souls eternally entwined.

Fear Hyperbolized

Discovering himself tied up in a cabin
Unable to anamnesis with his head hurting
Untying the braided knots with his teeth, a mission
In obfuscation on seeing plentitude gashes on his body, still bleeding

Dashing outside the cabin through the woods
Spurting through the black night, stumbling over a thornbush
Shrieking while plucking every thorn from his open wounds
Suddenly hearing a howl, up against a giant white wolf, an ambush

Gritting its silver sharp canines, charging up on him
Darting from the wild animal, heart pounding against his ribs
Bumping into a huge tree, he climbs fiercely with the wolf in a grim
Finding his heart rate now at a normal pace, he falls asleep in dribs

Hearing sounds of cheering, he slowly opens his eyes to a bright light
To his astonishment he finds himself a hostage to a horrendous tribe
Sacrificing humans to their gods, decapitated bodies scattered without a fight
Laughing and singing as they push him next with a gibe

Fear grips his body, unable to take a step further
In a blase they kick him from the cliff with jeers
Wheeling down the hill he halts at her feet, his ex lover
Her endearing beauty reminds him of their yesteryears

Tears of regret, the angel he once claimed his
Losing her in nescience, tearing his life to pieces
Looking at her raven eyes glowing in brightness
A mystique she always was, looking into his eyes

Shedding tears of regret, 'Please forgive me' he begs
'Not enough' she says glistening with passion
Ordering her men to drag him to the caves
Blind cannibals with sharp senses waiting in their dark rocky mansion

'I forgive you' she says, with familiar smilers
She watches as he's dragged to the hell hole, him a breakfast
With only his screams heard, paying for his errors
Slaked by his silence, she disappears into the deep forest.
